Testament to our commitment to keeping traditional crafts alive is our long-running apprenticeship scheme, run in association with the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB).
Now approaching its 10th year, the apprenticeship scheme offers emerging talent the opportunity of hands-on training alongside time-served craftsmen ensuring that the traditional crafts live on and that Elmwood has access to a skilled workforce now and in the future.
Combining practical experience with college learning, places are offered on a four-year contract basis with apprentices working towards a City & Guilds Craft Certificate: Carpentry & Joinery and thereafter, the Advanced Craft Certificate.
Indicative of the experience of their mentors and the quality of training provided, Elmwood apprentices have a track record of scoring well above average, with some even going on to win Apprentice of the Year at college and national level.
How to get involved
Thanks to our reputation as an ambassador of time-served crafts, we receive many applications through our partnerships with local colleges. We also welcome direct applications throughout the year. All applications are then reviewed every April, with shortlisted candidates notified by the end of May. For more information or to apply, email firstname.lastname@example.org
