Green for go on new Amazing Amber exhibition
National Museums Scotland’s latest exhibition, Amazing Amber, is now open at their flagship National Museum of Scotland on Chambers Street in Edinburgh, with fit out by Elmwood.
Located on the third floor, the special exhibition space was transformed by the addition of bespoke manufactured display tables and walls, along with the repositioning of existing museum display cases. All of which was coordinated and installed by Elmwood within a matter of weeks so that National Museums Scotland was ready to showcase over 320 amber objects – the UK’s largest exhibition of this precious substance – on time.
The fit out of the special exhibition space is the latest in a series of projects for National Museums Scotland, including the £47.4m refit of the National Museum of Scotland itself and most recently, enhancement works to the retail unit.
Said Workshop Manager Donald Bain: “It was a huge compliment for Elmwood to be invited back to the National Museum of Scotland and have the opportunity to prove once again that when we say we’ll deliver, we really do deliver.”
