New Bespoke Displays for the Burrell Collection
Elmwood Projects have been selected to create and install bespoke displays for two Exhibition spaces at the award-winning Burrell Collection in Glasgow’s stunning Pollok Park, as part of the Burrell Renaissance project.
The Burrell Collection is an extraordinary array of over 9,000 decorative artefacts including painting, sculpture, tapestry, glassware and more, with many pieces of international significance. The Renaissance project has sought to revitalise both the Category A listed building which houses the collection and also renew the interpretations and displays of the objects themselves.
Our team will be very proud to deliver new Fit Outs within this prestigious venue, working again alongside Exhibition Designers Event Communications. We have been tasked with creating and installing two new displays:-
- In the South East Gallery we will design and manufacture full Display “furniture” including Setworks, plinths, AV and Display cases, all to the Burrell Collection’s exacting requirements.
- In the room displaying the historic carved oak Bridgewater Ceiling, we will design, manufacture and install a brand new suspended timber frame system around this delicate piece, complete with bespoke display lighting.
We are delighted to be getting involved in this major refurbishment, which was started in 2016, and we look forward to contributing our expertise and high-quality workmanship towards the renewal of this internationally-renowned museum.
