Planning makes perfect for TLT fit out
One firm of solicitors, three office floors requiring fit out – two of them fully occupied throughout the programme of works. Problem? Not for Elmwood Projects, thanks to some painstaking planning.
Explains Commercial Director Stewart Arnott: “Our client, UK-wide firm TLT Solicitors, was looking to expand their office space at 140 West Regent Street, Glasgow from two floors to three, but without incurring any downtime.
“We started with the fit out of the new, unoccupied floor – partition walls, electrics, floor plate, fittings, IT infrastructure, the lot – carrying out any heavy lifting or noisy work out of office hours. By working alongside other trades and the client’s in-house IT team we were able to finish on a Friday, making it possible for the firm to start business as usual the following Monday.”
The fit out of the remaining two floors was carried out with similar precision. Says Stewart: “Throughout, we carried out any heavy lifting or noisy work out of office hours. Then, on the final floor, we worked in sections around the TLT team, avoiding disruption to their day-to-day business.”
The project is the second of two office fit outs for the UK-wide firm of solicitors, with Elmwood Projects having recently completed the fit out of TLT’s Edinburgh premises.
