Client: Scops Developments
Architects: Adam Architecture
Construction and bespoke fit out: Elmwood
Scops Developments appointed Elmwood to build and fit out the remaining three of six houses at its exclusive Avenel development in Kilmacolm – each with a value of between £1m and £2m – following the demise of the original contractor.
Designed by the internationally renowned architect Hugh Petter of Adam Architecture, the development adopts the distinctive arts and crafts style of the local area; a style heavily reliant on traditional building techniques such as white dash render walls, natural slate roofs, solid walls and floors, natural sandstone detailing and high quality interiors.
Providing the perfect showcase for Elmwood’s unique mix of construction, civil engineering and bespoke joinery expertise, each house was completed to the highest quality finish, with Plot 2 at Knockbuckle Lane going on to win ‘Luxury House of the Year’ at the Scottish Home Awards 2012.
“Elmwood and Redman have the creative vision to help us realise our objectives with this ambitious project. They have really gone all out to enable us to meet our deadlines and budget requirements.”
