Client: Brooklands Museum
Designers: Ralph Appelbaum Associates
Exhibition Fit Out: Elmwood Projects
The project comprised setworks, specialist joinery by Elmwood Projects, electrical, Graphics, AV Hardware, metalwork, mounts (including mannequins), and Display cases to the Bellman Hanger, Flight Shed and Finishing Straight areas (at the Brooklands Museum in Weybridge, Surrey).
We were also responsible for the coordination and installation of large objects and aluminium scaffolding system, as well as management of separately appointed subcontractors in mechanical interactives and AV software.
Inside the Bellman Hangar an ‘Aircraft Factory’ environment has been created, harking back to the Hangar’s original use as a manufacturing building. Exhibitions explore the history of aircraft manufacture – from the pioneering early aircraft of wood and fabric, to the supersonic airliner and the technologies of the future.
If you would like to pay a visit to the finished result, head on over to the Brooklands Museum Website for more details.
“As a main contractor, Elmwood successfully managed all sub contractors and ensured a high standard of workmanship. Very quickly we formed good relations with the Elmwood site staff, from contracts management to the men on the ground, joiners, brickies, labourers all of whom became part of the family.”
