Client: Shetland Amenity Trust
Bespoke joinery and fit out: Elmwood
Environment was a key consideration for Shetland Amenity Trust when integrating the island’s Museum and Archives into one new innovative new visitor attraction. The maritime location of the building strongly influenced its exterior design, while internally natural light and traditional timbers were maximised to create a welcoming ambience.
The museum set works included display case furniture designed by GBDM and produced, coordinated and installed by Elmwood using eco-friendly materials to help preserve the 3,000 unique artefacts on show to the public.
“We had a great experience working with Elmwood on this project, the client was impressed with the standard of finishes and with Elmwood’s communication throughout the process. Our key contacts, Scott, George and Mark have all been a pleasure to deal with. We would be happy to recommend Elmwood to other clients in the future.”
