Waverley Gate, Edinburgh < BACK

Client: NHS Lothian
Architects: Simon Laird Associates
Fit out: Elmwood
When NHS Lothian took up occupancy of the former GPO building at the heart of Edinburgh city centre, they were looking for a flexible office fit out and fast – which is exactly what Elmwood, in partnership with principal architect Simon Laird Associates, delivered.
Working with 36,000 sq ft across two floors, we created three distinct areas. On the second floor east lies the reception and board room, while on the second floor west is the main open plan working area complemented by streamlined meeting rooms housed behind glazed partitions, plus staff café. Situated on the fifth floor meanwhile, is a suite of bespoke cellular-style executive offices. All of which we were able to fit out to our customary high standard in just 11 weeks.
